We, like many interested in the short form, hope to spread the joy of the short story with our award – but that’s not the only way we’re trying to do it.

Last week, we ran a mini-competition for everyone who entered the award and will be posting a copy of The End, a wonderful short story collection from last year’s judges Unthank Books. This collection includes a beautiful short from this year’s judge Professor Ailsa Cox.

Congratulations to Yvonne Battle-Felton and Rachel McHale – your copies will be on the way shortly.

Want to help us spread the written word? Publishers, authors, if you have any pamphlets or collections that celebrate this form, please get in touch. It could be a nice way to get your work out to new readers and we’ll promote you and your work as we continue.

UPDATE: 22/11/17 Submit by 22nd December and, as well as our main competition, you could be in with a chance of owning of these collections from the wonderful Iron Press: Storm, IRON Women, Knives, Root, Cold Iron and Nesting by David Almond.
